I’m here with The Blogger Recognition Award!

This is my second award in as many months!  Just when I was about to give up on personal finance and try something different, these awards have renewed my passion. To check out my first award and see the 15 awesome blogs I nominated, read this post.

I wish to thank Maninder Kaur for recognising my blog and giving me a chance to share new blogs. I encourage you to check out her blog, my footprints around the globe where she shares about places she has been. As a well-travelled blogger she might be able to give you tips on travel!

Why I Choose Blogging

As a retired banker and financial advisor, I had lots of information to share about money, banking, insurance, loans. Through my encounters with clients I was also aware of the huge information gaps left by lack of financial literacy and the sheer ignorance of many! I’ve seen people tied in dead end jobs earning $100 per month and trapped in debt. I’ve seen others tarmacking for years while they hold the key to financial freedom but refuse to use it. That is why my very first post on this blog was about “Making money from your hobby’

About the Blogger Recognition Award

The best thing about this award is that it is awarded by real people after engaging with a blog. It’s a labour of love, given by paying it forward to others. Ideally, new bloggers with few followers should receive the awards so as to get motivated to continue with the work. It opens up new blogs to more readers while sharing important tips that will help bloggers to make the most of their opportunity.

Since I discovered blogging in 2011, I have had blogs on various interests that I change as I grow.

My 2 cents on blogging:

Blogging Tip 1

Choose a topic that you love. Blogging at the beginning is about passion which can bring in profits later on. This ensures you can keep writing even without any visible results from your effort both in terms of audience and money. Passion also shows in the way you write your posts. Remember you need real people to read, engage and share your content.

Blogging Tip 2

Read! Read! Read! What you know today is very fast becoming ancient. If you read, you can develop new ideas in line with your blog objective. If you don’t read, you may end up sharing content that is out-dated or already duplicated on other websites. Remember to grow your blog you must share useful and unique content.

My Nominees for The Blogger Recognition Award

There are many wonderful blogs out there that it is almost impossible to choose which one to nominate. I choose only self-hosted blogs because the owners have gone the extra step to show they are serious about blogging.
